Queensland is one of the best places in Australia for a maternity photoshoot. You have golden beaches on the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast, lush hinterland, riverside parks and bayside spots in Brisbane, and tropical light in Townsville and the Whitsundays. Finding the right photographer is the harder part, so we have put together five Queensland maternity photographers, organised by city. 2. Gaurab Photography - Brisbane, Logan and Park Ridge
Gaurab Photography is a Brisbane maternity photographer based in Park Ridge, south of the city, working with mums across Brisbane, Logan and nearby areas. Gaurab and his partner Ruksa run relaxed studio and outdoor maternity sessions, with a wardrobe of maternity gowns available for clients and guidance on posing so you do not need to feel awkward in front of the camera. Meadow and Mist Media is run by Nicole, who works across the Gold Coast, the Sunshine Coast and Airlie Beach. How to Choose a Maternity Photographer in Queensland
Studio or Outdoor in the Queensland Climate
Queensland summers bring heat, humidity and afternoon storms, so think about the season before you choose a location. A studio session in Brisbane keeps you cool and comfortable late in pregnancy. Outdoor shoots on the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast and in Townsville are usually best at sunrise or in the hour before sunset, when the light is soft and the heat has eased.

Instagram shows highlights. Ask each photographer for a complete maternity gallery, read recent Google reviews, and ask local mums' groups for recommendations. A short phone or video call will tell you a lot about whether you feel at ease with them.
Ask What Is Included
Packages vary widely. Ask how long the session runs, how many edited images you receive, when your gallery will be delivered, whether a client wardrobe is included and what the booking deposit is. Getting a full price guide upfront avoids surprises later.
When to Book Your Maternity Photoshoot
Most photographers recommend shooting between 28 and 36 weeks, when your bump is well rounded and you still feel comfortable moving around. If you are expecting twins, aim earlier. Popular photographers in Brisbane and on the Gold Coast can book out well ahead, particularly in the cooler months from April to September, so enquire early in your second trimester.

Light, breathable fabrics work best in the Queensland climate.
