Tip of the week: Pregnancy tips for mums-to-be

Pregnancy is an incredible journey, one that leads a woman into motherhood. It enriches a woman with an experience never felt before and prepares her to tend for the new life growing inside her.  Here are a few self-care tips that will help during pregnancy.

Eat Healthy

Remember to eat healthy always. Make sure your meals are balanced and nutritious.
Opt for pasteurized dairy products, and be mindful of food preparation. If you have a sensitive stomach, avoid ‘convenience foods’ such as hotdogs and deli meats.

Avoid Cigarettes & Alcohol

Avoid smoking completely. Some think that the occasional red wine may not be harmful but it is better to drink alcohol very moderately. And if possible, limit your daily intake of caffeine.

Monitoring

Go for your scheduled medical check – ups and scans.
Tell your doctor if you note anything unusual, such as spotting or unusual pain. Make sure you take all the multivitamins and tonics that are prescribed by your doctor.
